When we were first approached by Fisher-Price to become a Play Partner this year I knew this was a perfect fit for us. One of my all time favourite things to do with Zuri is letting her be herself, in her room, exploring and playing with her toys. I know that might seem like the most simple thing you could do with your child, but letting her have unstructured play time is so important to me. Parents often feel pressured to get their child involved in as many activities as possible, but giving them free time can be just as beneficial! A child’s mind at this age is so incredible; their imaginations are running wild and it’s important to me to let her build her creativity and curiosity by giving her the right toys to play with. Some of her favourite Fisher-Price toys at the moment are not only fun, but are also helping her reach important milestones. Continue reading to find out why these are our favourites, and don’t forget that everything is linked at the end of the post! If you missed our Fisher-Price Play Day post you can read that here. Thank you so much for stopping by!
This is hands down Zuri’s current BFF, she carries him around to every room we are playing in. She is really loving stuffed animals at the moment, so as soon as she felt how soft he is, she was hooked. I love Fisher-Price’s Smart Stages technology that grows with your child and supports the development of physical, cognitive and emotional milestones. This puppy has so many phrases and songs that keeps her entertained, while she learns.she really has learned so much from it. She just loves singing ‘Head & Shoulders’ (and now she knows the actions to the whole thing) and ‘If You’re Happy and You Know It’ – it is so cute to see her play along! She loves everything about Stage 3 because it is all about pretending and using your imagination!
Up until this point we didn’t really have a seat just for Zuri in the house. We brought home a rocking chair last summer, but it was so tippy that it kind of intimidated her from actually sitting on it. This chair is so great and is now a permanent member of our living room. Zuri uses it every day and it has encouraged her to learn to sit and stand, which we were so excited about! Not only that, after she learned how to stand up she actually took her first steps from it!! So this chair will now forever hold a special place in my heart because it is where my baby really started moving! She loves all of the little phrases and songs, and she also loves hiding all of her favourite little toys in the seat! Out of all of her toys I really noticed her hitting the most milestones with this one.
Stacking toys are so great for babies to first learn their hand-eye coordination! I love these stacking rings because they are so bright and colourful! It is so cute to watch Zuri play with the Rock-a-Stack because if she puts down a ring that doesn’t belong, she will shake her head (to herself lol) and try again until they all fit! She also loves having fun with it and stacking the rings on her feet and wrists, as well as play peek-a-boo through the holes.
