What’s the first thing you think of when you think of February? Is it Valentine’s Day? Red and pink? Chocolates and roses? This might sound a little funny, but for me, I think of my babies. February is the month that I found out I was pregnant for both of my children, so it brings back so many feelings and so many amazing memories. But this year is a little different, because for the first time in a long time, I’m not pregnant (nor trying to be) and I am not nursing a baby anymore. It’s like, this chapter of my life has closed and I don’t even know how to process it. I don’t know if we will have any more kids, so it’s bittersweet to think back on those exciting (and shocking) February nights. Keep reading to find out how I am changing things up this month, and the details for a fun giveaway at the end!
Even though the ‘baby’ stage of my life may be over, for the first time in nearly 4 years I actually have time to focus on myself. And let me tell you, that is something that gets pushed to the side so quickly once you have kids – I know you other mommas can relate! And don’t get me wrong, I love being a mom and will always put their needs ahead of mine. But now that they are a little older, and don’t rely on momma for everything, that “I need mom 24/7” stage is over. I hate to say this, but I almost feel like I lost my identity after having kids, and now I am finally ready to start figuring out who I am again. That is why making time to work on my physical, emotional and mental health is a huge priority for me right now, but to be honest I know I am going to need some help. So this is where the idea of a ‘self-love’ month came about. Instead of seeing February as just a month about Valentine’s Day and all that goes with it, let’s think of it as a month to start really talking care and loving OURSELVES.
So like I said, I am definitely going to need some support! If this sounds like something you could get on board with, then join me while I dedicate this month to self-love, self-care and just overall self-happiness! My goal is to end the month feeling confident, happy, inspired, and motivated to continue! How many times can you do something STRICTLY for yourself this month? To improve your health, to make you happy, to find out what you love again. Can you try to do something small everyday? I’m going to try, but I know it’s going to be hard. Here are just a few ideas but I would love to hear more from you guys!
