It has been a while (okay, forever) since I have posted a new outfit on the blog. Mainly because I’m a busy mom of two, but also because between being pregnant, nursing and not fitting into my clothes properly I can honestly say that I have fallen into a style rut. My passion and interest for styling outfits is still there, it’s just buried deeeeep down. Before having kids I thought for sure that being a mom wouldn’t have an effect on my personal style. I envisioned myself getting up before the kids, choosing cute outfits made for drop-offs and running errands, but remaining trendy and relevant. But the truth is, mom life is messy and so our clothes often reflect the craziness of our day. Questions like “what looks cute with this” is now replaced with “what is the most comfortable” or “what will hide my baby’s spit up the best”. It has been difficult, especially for a fashion lover like myself. I think the only way to get myself out of this funk is to challenge myself daily. Swapping out the sweats for something a little cuter. Restyling some pieces in my closet in a new way so they feel different and fresh! I know I can’t be the only mom out there that this has happen to. Let me know about your experience in the comments!
So now for the outfit. The title of this post is fitting because it has been my mantra since having the kids. If you don’t have anything to wear, throw on your favorite neutrals and call it a day. There is something classic about a neutral outfit, because it can never go out of style. In fact, I remember posting this outfit 4 years ago that is actually very similar to my ensemble today! I recently purchased these new white skinny jeans because the only white pair of pants that I owned were maternity jeans from my first pregnancy, sooo it was definitely time for an upgrade. I love these ones because they are super soft, very flattering and at a price point that I love. Add a grey tank, brown leather belt and some beige sandals and you got yourself an outfit. Hope you guys like this look, and as always, thanks for stopping by!
