Momma’s Energy Bites

As all of you momma’s know, a day in the life with a kids is usually hectic and unexpected. Finding time to actually eat can sometimes seem impossible. Warming up your same cup of coffee all morning, eating your toddler’s scraps for lunch, and then we blink and it’s supper time. These energy bites (or boobie bites as we like to call them) have been a life saver for me. I started making them when Zuri was born, and they have been a staple in our fridge ever since. They are delicious and packed full of goodness, which can keep a momma going when you just don’t have time for anything else. These are also great for kids, as Zuri loves them for a little treat! The best part about the recipe is that it can be completely customized depending on what you have in your pantry, so every batch usually turns out a little different. If you give them a try let me know what you think! Enjoy!

Momma’s Energy Bites
2 cups whole oats (regular oats work as well)
1 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter (sometimes need more if batch isn’t sticking well)
1/3 cup honey
2 tbsp flax seed meal
2 tbsp hemp hearts
optional: 3 tbsp brewers yeast powder – good for nursing momma’s!

Directions:
Mix all ingredients in a bowl, I often use my hands. Roll into 1 inch balls. Put in the fridge!
