New To The Makeup Bag

I’m so excited to be sharing some of my new makeup favs with you guys! I wouldn’t recommend a product if I haven’t tried it and absolutely loved it – and I can honestly say these have all been added to the makeup bag and will be staying there for a long time! Hope you guys enjoy, and if you have any other recommendations that I should try, please leave them in the comments!

Foundation: Dior Forever Perfect

This is the newest and most exciting addition to my makeup bag. If you know me at all I’m a “find a product that works well and use the heck out of it” type of girl. But the other day when I was in Sephora I was chatting with one of the girls and she asked me if I ever tried the Dior foundation. I said no but she insisted that I leave with a sample, and who says no to samples! The first day that I tried it I was instantly convinced. It is truly unlike any other foundation that I have ever tried. I like to wear medium to full coverage foundations (always have) which is what this is, but the only difference it doesn’t feel like it AT ALL. It actually doesn’t feel like you are wearing any makeup at all – it’s amazing! It also passed my ultimate makeup test which is lasting throughout an entire wedding work day (12+ hours in the heat). You guys needs to try this – trust me!!

Concealer: Tarte Shape Tape

So I FINALLY got my hands on the infamous shape tape, and I know I am late to the game but I am so happy to finally try it! As any momma knows, the dark under eye circles that arrive when the baby does don’t ever seem to actually go away, so using a concealer is a must in my routine no matter what. I used to be faithful to my MAC pro-longwear concealer, but this one has recently taken it’s place! It covers so beautiful, last all day, and is definitely the full coverage that I am looking for. And good news – Ulta now ships to Canada, making it super easy to re-order once I run out!

Bronzer: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer

I am a huge fan of Hourglass and have been using their products for a few years now. So it was no surprise when I ordered their Ambient Lighting Bronzer this summer and absolutely fell in love with it. If you have ever tried their powders before, your know the ‘glow’ that I am talking about. Well now I can get that look I love along with adding a bit of color to my face. I use it everyday whether I am just kicking around the house or going out with a full face. So if you see me out and about and think that I am rocking a nice ‘pregnancy glow’ – think again. Just my bronzer! LOL

Eyeliner: Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

I fell upon this product because a close friend of mine recommended it. If you have ever had the issue of your eyeliner leaving marks on your eyelids (hello to all my fellow oily-skin gals) you know how frustrating it can be to find a good eyeliner. This one stands up to it’s name and literally does not smudge, move, leave marks, fade or ANYTHING all day long. I love a felt pen for applying my eyeliner, so if that’s not your thing you may not like it. But if you need something to stay in place all day long, this is your new bff.

Blush: Mary Kay Baked Cheek Powder

This blush was sent to me in a PR package and I am so glad that I gave it a try. It is the softest, prettiest, most perfect summer shade that I have been using on the daily. It’s subtle but is definitely build-able depending on the look you are going for. But it’s definitely the sheen that makes it so beautiful! I love how my cheeks look after using it because it’s almost like a blush and highlighter in one!

Perfume: MAC Turquatic

It’s not very often that I purchase new perfume, but I tried this scent while standing in line at MAC and couldn’t stop smelling my wrist for the rest of the day. It’s fresh and not too strong, which is just the type I usually go for. I bought it in the roller and it has been a lifesaver for traveling because you can just toss it in your bag and go! Give it a try the next time you are at MAC!
