Baby Shower Brunch

I recently hosted a baby shower for my sister-in-law and my newest niece, Rayna! Since she was already born and 6 weeks old, it was so nice for people to come and hang out with her. It also allowed us to be creative with the theme! We really played up the 'April Showers brings May Flowers' theme, which I thought worked perfectly! (name being Rayna and was born in May) Raindrops, umbrellas, and ... Read the Post

The Hammock Life

This is our first summer living at the new house, and I am so excited to have a big backyard. So many projects and work to do to make it a little getaway! This past weekend we worked on the hammocks! We now have two hammocks hanging in the back beside our fire pit. They were just old hammocks that we had at the cottage, but no one was using them down there! Ingredients: 1 cup dry quinoa 2 cups water 2 cups sliced grape tomatoes 1 cup spinach, chopped 1/2 cup ... Read the Post

1 Dress 2 Ways

Before I started my day job, my wardrobe was very typical of a student: mostly casual with a few nice pieces. But once I graduated, my closet (and I) had to grow up a little bit. I needed to start shopping for work appropriate outfits and mature pieces. The only problem is, my eyes were still drawn towards young, and trendy styles. So I have learned to shop with the "1 for 2" mentality in mind. If ... Read the Post

Road Trip! California Dreaming

A couple of months ago, my husband and I went on a trip of a life time (for us East coasters) to California! We have always wanted to visit the West coast, so we started planning and our relaxing vacation turned into a 2 week road trip extravaganza! We really had no idea as to which cities we should stop at, how long at each location and which attractions were definitely worth our while. ... Read the Post
